experimentation
Well, I went to bed early last night, and ended up waking up at about 5:20 this morning, which isn't too bad. I figured out how to color the birthday present I've been working on the past couple of days! Watercolor pencils!
Unfortunately they don't exactly yield the brightest colors, so I had to break out the old school style watercolors. (yey Prang~) I was rather pleased with the result, since it's been about four years since I played with watercolors. They kinda got away from me though, so there's a couple goofed-up spots. Hopefully no-one will notice but me. 8D;;;
Also, note to self: I need to remember not to color all the way to the edges of the paper next time, so I don't have to worry about tape messing with it, and I can tape it to a backboard so the paper doesn't shrivel up. ...Which it's doing on this one because I was a doofus and didn't realize that in order to finish coloring it, I'd have to get the whole page wet. Duh. Next time? Giant backboard and tape. Lots of tape. That is the purpose of artist's tape. Keeps pages nice and straight and keeps them from getting all shrivelled when using watercolor.
Must remember that for next time. I'll scan it again after it dries, but I shan't post it 'til after I give it to the person who it's going to. IT'S A MYSTERY.

P.S. - WhatTheButt is up with all my friends having birthdays in Fall/Winter. SERIOUSLY. It is hard to get presents together in time because it's like a birthday every week. Ziri would go bankrupt before February trying to buy you all presents. Wark. So, arts we go!
