AX 2007 S.K.I.N. Report!
Yes, yes, yes, I know, it's taken me forever to get off my butt and do this. I've been trying to work, and well...Ziri was too distracted by the "OMG I SAW GACKT LIVE" to be coherent. That and seeing Sugizo and Yoshiki on stage kind of rotted out my brain. Maybe it had something to do with the air-humping and the half-nekkid "hold on I need to douse myself." WHO KNOWS.
But thanks to the other kids that managed to sneak their cameras into the concert, I can refresh my memory. :D
ALSO NOTE: There will be MUCH capslock abuse, and this is 100% COMPLETELY OUT OF ORDER ONCE THE CONCERT PART STARTS. I have no memories that are coherent aside from the OHGOD, IS HE DOING WHAT I THINK HE'S DOING?!?! D:

Hokai! SO. First of all, the day was a blur of "OMG, where are we supposed to be?! D:", "OHGOD, what if they don't like my arts?!!? DX" and general panics along those lines. Zac spent the morning trying to calm me down, help me hunt down someone that could tell us where to go, and STANDING IN LINE IN THE SUN. This is Southern California, in the summer. Obviously they wanted us to suffer. Horribly. I was decked out in my trusty Cathat, my JRR shirt, and my JRR night one outfit aside from shirt. I was melting. D: The only way I found out where the hell the line was was thanks to Jocelyn (who flagged me down as I was wandering past), because you couldn't trust the AX or the sports arena staff to know anything. It was ridiculous.
I don't remember when the concert was supposed to start, but I remember us waiting for around an hour after the alleged start time before they even began to let us in. By then we were overheated, sunburned, dehydrated, and overly ecstatic. People were squeeing as they went inside, and I seem to recall doing some twisted hybrid between a skip and a mad dash to get in to the seating area. While squeeing like a rabid fangirl.
Oh yeah, and by the way, I had floor tickets. >:3
Unfortunately, they weren't the Most Awesome floor tickets (Section A & B, I believe), I was in Section D, with a sign between me and the closest screen. Drat you, sign~! (\>, < I swear, that thing became my arch nemesis. While we were seating ourselves, there was a lot of milling around, trying to find friends, and chatting with the fans next to you. Jocelyn and I had a good time, and then they started taunting us by playing music and videos on the side screens. Which lead to people FREAKING OUT. We thought S.K.I.N. was STARTING. But no. So the fans took to doing the wave and that's how Kels and Sarra spotted me. My trusty Cathat saves the day!
By now the schedule has been officially thrown out the window, I'm sure, but something began to happen. I raced back to my seat and nearly threw myself in it. That's when the lights went dark, and the music from the JRR preview began to play. Then the screaming started. They showed a video that displayed all their names and then the band name, then the curtain dropped and the guys came out.
From there, I don't remember much (I really waited to long to write this, I'm sorry. ;; ~ ;;), but I do remember what the guys did and Gackt introducing everyone.
MYV spent a lot of the time spazzing out as he played his guitar, and at one point he threw himself down on the stage and was rolling around, kicking his feet in the air as he played. When Gackt was talking with the audience, there was a point where MYV was putzing on his guitar, and glanced over at Gackt out of the corner of his eye. This is where I realized how all MYVs fangirls became his fangirls. Dude's a total nut. An ADORABLE SPAZ.
So he looks over at Gackt, then totally gets this "HurrHURR, I have you now! >:3" look on his face. I swear he made the cat face. He sneaks over to Gackt, ON TIPTOE, and as Gackt is singing/talking into the mic, MYV leans over, looking out at the audience from the corner of his eye, and makes a total show of leaning in to LICK GACKT'S CHEEK, I swear to GOODNESS. But at the very last second, Gackt leaned away.
It went like this:
MYV: Nyo-ho! I have you now! >:3
MYV: *ninjaSNEAKPOWURZ GO!* X3
Miyavi: *dramatic lean!* >:3~~~ *liiiiick*
Gackt: *evasivelean!* No. >:|
MYV: ; 3 ;
MYV: Ohwells. *rocks out!* X3
DENIED and PWNT. MYV had a sadface moment then bounced off to play with his guitar more.
SUGIZO HUMPED HIS GUITAR. AND THE AIR AROUND HIS GUITAR. OH SWEET NINJA JEEBUS. I thought I was going to have an aneurysm and die. Also, at a point near either the middle or the end, Yoshiki stood up from behind his drum set (HALF NAKED. I feel the need to EMPHASIZE THIS POINT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE). The camera was stuck on a zoom in on his stomach and the waistline of his pants (which were riding VERY LOW on his hips). There was a point where his hands were hovering around his waistband and a part of me was practically screaming "can we has nekkid tiem nao?! D:" BUT NO. Then....the waterbottles came out, and he emptied them over himself and thew them into the audience. Half nekkid and v. wet Yoshiki? Check.
ZIRI APPROVED OF THIS CONCERT WHOLEHEARTEDLY. THERE NEEDS TO BE MOAR OF THIS.
Also, there was the rocking out, where everyone swapped their instruments for more traditional stuff. Yoshiki & Gackt had taken up a piano apiece, MYV had bust out his shamisen(?) and was totally grooving with it, and Sugizo was on a violin. It was beautiful, and then they started attacking their gear. MYV continued to strum and pluck his instrument, but Sugizo tore the strings off his violin, Yoshiki pounded on the keys of his piano and thrashed around like he was possessed, and Gackt slumped over the keys, I think he was playing but I was a bit busy with the "WTF are they doing? o O;;;"
The intros were towards the end of it. Gackt introduced MYV first, who was doing his neko-nyaa face again as he was rocking on his guitar. His intro for Sugizo was very cute. "Three years ago, I HATED THIS GUY. But now, we're best friends. :D" *cue fangirl screamings from audience* Yoshiki got a very, very long intro, of which I only remember the last part. "From the one, the only, X-JAPAN!" *SCREAMING AND ORGASMING FANTHINGS* *Ziri screamed too* Then he got to himself after he intro'd Yoshiki, and decided to play off the X thing, I think.
Gackt: *looks around the stage, taunts fanthings from the center* Who am I?
Fanz: GACKT~! *KYAAAAAA~!*
Gackt: WHO AM I?
Fans: GAAAAACKT~!
*repeat 50bazillion times*
Gackt: That's right. >]
This continued until we thought we couldn't scream anymore, and Gackt leered. Either that or it was a very smug grin. But there was definitely Gackt's equivalent of a *Hurrhurr* in there somewhere, I'm sure.
There was also a point where the guys trashed their gear. Sugizo took a lot of effort into smashing his guitar as hard as he could, so hard that parts were flying off the stage and into the crowd, at which point he just threw or kicked the smashed pieces at the fans. Yoshiki kicked his drums over, then stood up, grabbed his hi-hats and proceeded to beat the crap out of the rest of the drums like they were zombies in a Resident Evil game. Destruction and chaos ensued. I think even MYV smashed up his guitar, but by the end of it the guys were standing around and panting.
And from there, I don't remember much of anything at all. D: But I has photos!
These were the only ones I could get, and unfortunately I almost lost my camera to the photo nazis, but I stuffed it in my pocket before they could take it. So I bring you the few Ziri SKIN pics. :3
