In lieu of the funny Kankuro faces, I felt obliged to do some Kankuro stuff. And I found this rather amusing piece of information, so of course I had to exploit it. XD

And no, I have no idea where this is going, other than the rather obvious direction (get your brains out of the sewers, pls). So yeah. XD

So, on to the drabble!

Title: Bon appetite!
Author: lol, the Ziri
Rating: Safe for chibis!
Warning: Aside from my terrible attempt at French, is worksafe. :3
Notes: Kinda-sorta-probably Re:Birth-verse. Keryns, please not to be killing Sakura or myself, ilu.

One did not live on their own for many years as a shinobi without learning a few key traits for survival. The ability to move with total silence, to be able to sleep anywhere and at any time, and to make an edible meal out of whatever you had on-hand. Most shinobi managed at least two out of three, usually the first two, and the latter was...well, at least the meals were palatable enough that a ninja could swallow it down without choking too badly.

But Sakura was not one of those shinobi. She knew her way around her kitchen well enough, and while her cooking skills weren't exactly Akimichi-class, she was rather pleased with her skills. Her mother had raised her with the fine knowledge of sweets-making, and had taught her enough so that when her only child was released into the wide world to fend for herself, she wouldn't starve or make herself sick on take-out. It had also helped that Sakura had taken a few pointers from some of the more youthful chefs she knew.

So when she was busy chopping away at some vegetables, she knew what she was doing and held her knife with the assurance of one who'd been doing this long enough for it to be a fine art. The onions were chopped into neat little rings and tipped into a bowl for later, then she plucked a pair of tomatoes from where they'd sat drying nearby and sliced them carefully. A cheerful tune filled the air as she hummed a song that had embedded itself in her head as she worked, mindful of the searing meat cooking on a grill nearby. The tomatoes cut, she tipped them into their own bowl, setting her cutting board in the sink as she went to flip the meat patties. Apparently they were a favorite in the western countries, and had been brought over by various travellers.

And since the Kazekage's siblings were in town again on diplomatic missions again, the Rokudaime had seen it fit to give them a friendly welcome. With a quick flick of her wrist and the help of well-honed reflexes, Sakura flipped one of the hamburgers onto its bun, and after a few quick additions of toppings, dropped the top half of the bun on before presenting it to her guest with a faint flourish.

"Hope you like it medium rare, Kankuro." Sakura beamed, rather proud of herself. "Tell me what you think." It was, after all, the first time she'd tried to fix hamburgers, so she stood back and absent-mindedly plucked at her bottom lip as she waited with baited breath.

Uh...it stops there because I have no idea how to write Kankuro. Especially Kankuro being suspicious then giving into the homemade hamburger. So I'll save that part for the Kankuro experts. XD

kankuro, naruto, sakura
