Somedays I wished I hadn't left AI, but...I dunno. The people who started the same quarter that I did and kept on top of their classes are graduating in September. That...could've been me, but I failed too many classes because I couldn't keep up with the workload. I'd procrastinated for everything ever since my fourth quarter. I left with at least three more quarters worth of make-up classes that I would've needed to complete to get my BS in Multimedia and Animation. Which is just a really fancy way of saying computer animation.
But even if I did stay, I wouldn't have been happy. Alex told me that AI is trying to really be acredited now, so all the teachers that don't have teaching credentials are being fired. Which was most of the best teachers I'd ever had. The only ones that could make the programs make sense, because they worked with them every day since the software first came out. The teachers you could actually talk to about things and it was cool. The ones who could tell you where to go for jobs in the industries, or help you with your demo reel and your portfolio.
Now they're going to bring in people who don't know what the shite they're doing in the industry, but hey! They have a teaching liscence, so it's all good!
Good thing I did leave, otherwise I would've been pissed as hell with what they'd done with that 60k I gave them. Leeching bastiches.
I think they're the reason why I don't want to go back to college. I mean, what's the point, when you can't get the education you need to do what you want in life? What's the point, when people don't listen to what you say you want to do, and try to redirect you to the path that gives them the most of your money? Yeah, I'm supposedly enrolled in a community college right now, which allows me to finally access my scholarship money, but...I can't do what I want so what good is it? I wanted to become an illustrator, so I need to find a good school for that, but I don't have the money to pay for it out of my own pocket, and God help me if it's too far, because Mom can't drive me, and I've always been nervous about public transportation.
Circular argument, drama, drama, drama. I'll shut up now.
