This time it's original. I may do it as a comic. Was considering it. Don't have names for either of them, yet, but I'm working on it.

"The sky is falling."

The girl looked up at her dour companion as a raindrop rolled down his forehead and into his eyes. "It's just rain, it rains all the time here. You'd think you'd be used to it by now."

Adjusting her grip on her bag, she noticed him watching her out of the corner of her eye. There were moments when she found his mannerisms rather disconcerting. Today was one of those days.

"Rain is made of water, water is part of the atmosphere, hence it is what makes the sky. Now it's down here. The sky is falling." He said it with such finality, she had to sigh. Aside from that, he spoke with a bored monotone that made it nigh impossible to distinguish his moods. But today, it was more than just a touch obvious he was feeling contrary, and she sighed.

"Your logic is always so confusing. Why not simply say 'it is raining', rather than 'the sky is falling'. By your logic, it's the same thing, isn't it? You always have to make things sound so apocolyptic, even though it's something as simple as 'it's morning'." Shaking her head, she pulled out an umbrella and handed it to him just as it began to rain lightly, soon it would be pouring, if the weather held up like it had all week.

He took the battered umbrella and opened it, holding it over them both as he was by far the taller of the two. His mouth was drawn in his usual morose frown, his vague displeasure showed in his eyes as they stood in silence, waiting for the light to turn. It was times like this when she wondered if he stayed for the conversation, he was strange like that.
