Well i might as well throw some random dribble up onto this LJ i don't do it often enough! last week was the fun visit up to glasgee as the locals call it. Stayed with el lupo (
lupestripe) the night before and setoff up this was sure to be a fun week with the threat of snow showers on the horizon (which indeed did come but later) The drive up was pretty much the usual affair the hour i gained from staying at lupes was lost with trucks going an extra bag of shugar per hour more than the other truck as well as the suspect drivers you wonder how the hell they ever passed their test.
Eventually i pulled up at branch and settled myself down to work. What a mess the wireless network was in this was sure to be a long job and indeed i twas but thats another story, i have never seen cat5e cabled welded together like that from a blown device in five years! but i wasn't touching any of that before the cup of tea :D
Went to the wonder full hotel. this is the point i thought
actively_lazy (funky fox) had some input into their recent refurbishment, in his usual snipes at my height. The beds were quite high off the floor im 5' 7" myself and it was up to my waist! using the bed for pressups was not even an option :(
The drive back down was equally entertaining, some moron thought it would be a good idea to try and overtake at 80mph (not a problem i hear you say) that is until you factor in the fact that the fast lane was covered with 2 inch of snow you have very little visibility due to the snow and the middle lane was not too good either and it quickly becomes a stupid idea. With no way to bail i was stuck in the middle car behind car infront and trucks to the left the guy did think better of it when his car started to fishtail, He managed to gain himself 1 full cars length before he had to force his way back in or lose controll (which if he did would have been another one of these crash's). I arrived back home after 4 and a half hours constant driving and counting a total of 6 upturned trucks and various other smash's.
Amazing how much dribble you can put down from just a day or two.
