Not emoness for once!

Yes, that's right. This journal is certified emo-free.

Well, maybe that's a little white lie. If you're good, you'll pick up some emoness in my writing, hehe. A tiiiiny bit. But the reasons for that is of no importance now.

I've not really been telling anyone about my new life in the big city. The biggest city in Africa, that is. *grins* No, really. 14 million strong metropolis, i'm telling you. Wikipedia classifies the entire province as a big city. Which is not so far from the truth, it's pretty much urban throughout Gauteng. But the beauty of it all lies in the fact that satellite imaging equipment thinks we're a subtropical jungle. Eh, what? i hear you say. It's true, tho - Johannesburg is one green city. No, not GREEN as in environmentally friendly. But green as in there is about ust as much vegetation as buildings in the city. In fact, if i look out of my office window, i see parkland. And if i look closely, i can see the tip of one of the skyscrapers in Sandton juuuust visible behind some trees. That should also tell you that Johannesburg is geographically anything but flat :)

Anyway, so my job. You can call me an incredibly lucky wolf. It's not often that you have a job basicly waiting for you as you finish University. It's not often that that job is actually something you love doing. And it's not often that it pays more than you even dreamt you would earn so early in your career. I owe my friend, Anoyomouse, a great deal in helping me obtain this job. And if you are religious in nature, i am grateful to God for where i am now...

I can afford a new car now, and i'm snooping around for wheels as we speak. My old red Mazda just went past the 200,000km (123,000mi) mark, and the gearbox is going clunky on me. Shifting gears now is the equivalent of stirring a bowl of heavy rocks. Also, the driver's seat has a metal bit poking through on the left side that occasionally attacks my leg. Not to mention that he's a petroholic. Hehe... But, this car is stil a gem. I'm the second owner, and the engine runs beautifully, plus the bodywork is perfect. I once DID shatter my front indicator light, but i'll always blame that one on the misplaced wheelbarrow, hehe. My 18yo nephew will take it from my paws.

I'm a very heart-over-head person, and when it comes to cars (and most things in life), the unique is what catches my attention. Don't you dare give me Volkswagen Polo's and Toyota Yaris's. Everytime you bat an eyelid on the highway there's another one just in front or behind you. Practicality also kinda takes a rear seat with me. I really don't care how anyone else fits into my car - as long as i am comfy. You can bite onto the tyre for all i care *giggles* The front passenger seat will at least be nice, so one person should be perfectly fine. Erm, anyway... My current short list of cars are:
- Daihatsu Sirion
- Suzuki Swift
- Ford Fiesta
- Diahatsu Materia
- Renault Clio III
- Citroen C4 VTR
- Fiat Panda 100HP
- Suzuki Jimny 4x4
- Opel Astra OPC
You'll notice no VW or Toyota in there. I am a wolf, not a sheep. I don't care how good they are, i will not drive a car everyone else has, hehe. Also, i managed to make a Polo lose its hubcaps the other day, so that is not much of an indication of robustness *chuckles*

Anyway, back to my job. I am not sure what my position is called, tho. The company organisation chart calls me a "Standards Engineer". But i do more than just the standards. I do a bit of testing, analysis and (soon) marketing as well. And make coffee. Let's not forget that detail *giggles*

Also, i'm one excited beast. Raiken, my on-again-off-again pinecoony, will be visiting me in June. Now, as alot of you know, i have a very illustrious history with this coonie. And to finally get to meet him and get back at him for making my life so colourful, makes me one happy wuff. Under "getting back" we understand: tickling, snuggling, sleep deprevation, exposure to my bad accent, etc etc. Hopefully his sanity will remain intact. Erm anyway...

I should get my ass into bed now. It's monday tomorrow! Meaning, back to my sweet job.

~W~
