A reason to take care of your toys.
A couple of years ago I was visiting some friends in Knoxville and went by a local toy store. In the store they happened to have a Cthulhu plush toy (the large black gothic Cthulhu), the price was $24, but it was awfully damned cute. So I buy it and have taken excellent care of it over the past couple years, and even now it sits at my desk at work just hanging out.
Well I was giving thought to collecting the others in the set, so I did some searching and tracked down the toy company that put it out, and blam, they've only got a handful left, and are selling them at $150 each. Plus if you have one of the original overly large green Cthulhu's they are a real collector's item selling at $999.99 from the original toy company (who only has one in stock). Makes me glad I take care of my more collectable toys.
