Walkabout Card 2 and Card 16

I am trying to anew this of taking 3 walks a week from the "50 adventures on foot of San Francisco" and I thought why not blog about it as I haven't had much to do here.

Card 2: SFMOMA and Yerba Buena.
This card takes you around the nice inner park of down town but it is clearly designed to lead you in to SFMOMA and look around there.  I did it with my Mom and found some nice little places to hide in the heart of down town and we found a cute little chocolate place as we wandered off the path and checked out a church I have always wanted to check out.  The Church reminded me of the old European Cathedrals and I found out it had been there since pre-1906 earthquake when it had to be rebuilt.  Maybe a little short but a fun way to explore SF and my mom and I found some new restaurants for us to try when we go to the Ballet.

Card 15: Fort Mason
What a perfect walk for a day like today.  Dad and I walked from the Great meadow to Ghirardelli Square and back through Fort Mason.  Days like this were created for walks like this.  Wandering in the sun and finding the hidden cannon at Black Point Battery that dates back to 1797.  We grabbed a chocolate ice cream at Ghirardelli Square and just enjoyed it as my dad told me stories of the city that he knew.  We saw wonderful view of Alcatraz, Angel Island, Saucileto Tiburon and alot more of the North Bay which was so beautiful on a clear day like today.  It was a longer walk which was nice and even if it did take us in to the tourist area this time of year it isn;t so bad.
