Well, Damn.

So, Benn finally managed to get a hold of the realtor, and apparently that place sold last week. Thanks for telling us, Dick. We had hoped to close a sale by the end of the month, so we could give a month's warning to our landlord, but that's probably not going to happen, now. Guess we won't be moving til September. And to where? I don't know, but ( Read more... )

Um, unsolicited assvice here - find another realtor. If he knew you were very interested in a property, and considering putting in an offer, and then he didn't contact you or make it easy to contact him, he's not going to be a strong advocate for you.

This is the single biggest purchase you will ever make. You need someone who is going to work hard for you.

My two cents. I'm sorry about the condo. Are there any other units in the same complex for sale? Maybe since this one sold so quickly other folks will be tempted to try and flip.

If he weren't my coworker's Dad, which could make things easier, we probably would switch.

There are a couple more units, here

and here

and he's going to try and arrange viewings for tomorrow evening.

Argh.

They both look nice...you should consider changing realtors though...or at least having a discussion with him about your expectations. You could sit down with him and possibly the broker that he works for and discuss things. The entire brokerage is really working for you, so if he won't respond within several hours, contact the managing broker...just find out who that is!

I think *he* is! He's my coworker's Dad, he's near retirement age, and he's dying of bone cancer. It makes things a little awkward.

I say give him one more chance, because I know you will anyway. But really, if he cocks it up again, co-worker or no co-worker, you just have to move on. Did he apologize, at least?

Good luck with the new viewings. Fingers crossed for you.

Yeah, that's about our plan. If he loses us another house, we're just going to have to get a new realtor.

Benn reminded him that our pre-approval expires in August, though, and he thinks that made Dick wake up a little.
