If I Were a Blogger...

...would you read me?

Yeah, I know, this LJ counts as a blog, but let's face it, it isn't a real bloggy (that's right. I adjectived "blog". That's right, I just verbed "adjective") blog. It's more like a form of mass-email that I use to keep people up to date on my life, and to keep up to date on other people's lives. A more personal version of facebook. While it is public, so that I can upload posts to facebook and thus keep up with friends who aren't on LJ, I have it unlisted from search engines, so that people won't stumble on it unexpectedly.

But I do like writing blog posts. I've always enjoyed writing, and I would kind of like to have a real blog. Maybe on Wordpress or something. It wouldn't be right now - my life is too boring to blog about in any kind of formal setting. What would be the theme? Who would want to read it? But in the future, say when I have kids, I could become a mommy blogger. I mean come on - you know me. You KNOW I'm going to treat having a fetus/baby/child as a new training opportunity. I'm going to do experiments on infant learning, comparing my fetus/six month old/six year old to a puppy, because I'm Carol and that's what I do. You know I will. With a year off, no dogs to train, I'll have to train something and you know my child is going to get the brunt of it. It seems that this would be amusing to blog about - successes and failures alike. Probably people, being people, would be even more amused by my failures than by my successes.

So here's the thing - if I did start a real blog, do you guys think it would be readable? Do you think it might actually be interesting/amusing, and worth checking on top of my LJ? It would be more formal than this blog, since it would be more public. I'm going to try and keep this post from being automatically uploaded to Facebook where everyone and their dog (quite literally) sees what I do. I'd be careful not to mention specifics about myself on it, like mentioning PADS by name or giving last names, lest it get back to my employers.

Do you guys think I am capable of making an interesting blog, in the future when my life is actually a little more interesting? Themes would probably include animal behaviour, animal training, human psychology, observations on how people work, my woes as a parent, embarassing and funny things that happen to me, observations on infant behaviour/learning and other Carol style things, such as grammar and comments on life in general. As humorously as possible. I'd try and make it funny whenever possible, because I like funny. The funny side of life, from a Carol kind of perspective. Would anyone read that? Don't worry, the real boring moany updates on my life stuff would still end up on your friends page :p

Finally, what do you guys think I should call the blog, if it were worth getting off the ground? All the good blogs have catchy titles that somehow touch on the blog's theme. Like, A Little Pregnant is an infertility blog. Hannah's blog is Me and My Shadows, because she writes about being a parent. Vancouver Dad is a popular Vancouver daddy blog. Mind you, Dooce is famous and I have no idea why her blog is called Dooce. Anyway. What would be the essence of a Carol blog? Some kind of word play on dogs or babies perhaps? I'm not good at catchy titles. I need ideas. What do you think a formal Carol-training-babies-and-dogs-and-funny-side-to-life blog would be called?

Or should I scrap the whole idea?

EDIT: What do you guys think about "If By Yes"? It has nothing to do with dogs, training, books or babies, but it is a line from one of my favourite poems and I like how it sounds. Hannah warned me not to limit myself, and surely a nonsensical sentence is as open as can be? Or is it too nonsensical?

musings, i is a dork
