A bitter taste in his mouth. Pity. For Aegir’s food was always sublime, Odin reflects with miserable longing, watching his blood brother scamper away to live out his last moments before captivity. Oh, they will catch him all right, now that he has given the go ahead. Time and time again, chances were given but Loki drew his last bit of good will from Odin’s heart when complicity in Balder’s death was apparent though not proven. Could any blame him for giving up, letting what once was a good thing in his life slip away? There is no joy in this act for he has lost a son and now, a brother.
