"Sometimes I grow so tired."

"But I know one thing I've got to do:
Ramble On!"

Ug.

I only swam 300 yards. *scowly* That's with breaks, backstroke, and 50 yards of that was with a kickboard (although, that's not really easier, it just helps me float better). I'm sick of sinking so easily. Basically, I have to either swim really fast, or spend a lot of my effort swimming *up* so that I'm at the surface where I should be (and yes, I bloody-freaking know how to swim; if you're a girl, don't you *dare* give me pointers on the matter; if that sounds sexist, you obviously don't understand. Questions?).

O yeah. Work. Well, it was run-of-the-mill, basically. Go on delivery (should have known it was a kid; middle of the morning, ordering a medium extra cheese? He paid me nearly $5 in change [think: pennies, with nickles, very few dimes, and a token quarter thrown in] *AND* short-changed me 6 cents). Do food prep (chicken wings and salads for today, as well as cheddar cheese, now that I think of it). Go on delivery. Come back. Answer phones. Make/help make pizzas. Go on more deliveries. Answer phones some more. etc., etc. Not really exciting. Worked until about quarter to 7, so a bit over 8 hours today. Really nothing interesting. But I get to go in early tomorrow so I can go business hang the area (meaning, offering specials to businesses so that they feel inclined to order from us during the day).

Also, I have Thursday off, but not Friday. Friday, I have to work at 5. *sigh* Also, it seems I may have to go down to Yelm (2 hours, one way) to help my sister out with her children on Thursday, my day off. Not that I really mind Rebekah, and to Christopher's (jeez, I hope that's how the kid spells his name.. I don't really know) defense, he's just a new-born. But seriously, a 2 hour car ride on my day off so I can *work*, followed by another 2 hour car ride back when I'm *finally* done. Really. If she lived closer, it would be no problem, at least for a while.

O yeah, by the way. Yesterday, I went for new athletic shoes and new swim shorts. *nods*. It was about time for both; not that my old swim shorts wore out; not by any means. They are, in fact, too small for me. I got them when I was shorter, see. I .. don't swim a whole lot. And my old tennis shoes... well, I should have replaced them a long time ago; I've had them since I've been in high school, I think, and we all know how long ago *that* was.

But, in getting the shoes (at Wally-World, I know ["we screw our employees and pass the savings on to you"]), we actually saw Jennifer. Funny. I was walking by thinking "y'know, that girl looks a lot like Jennifer." Then I mention it to Cortney after, and she's like "WHAT?!" And of course, we have to walk back around to see, and in fact, it looked like Jennifer because it *was* Jennifer. Cortney was weirded out in that strange excitement kind of way that she does. But really, she doesn't concern me, so my reaction was much closer to apathy (I couldn't tell for sure, but it seemed like she might have grown up a little? Physically, emotionally, I don't know. The last time I really had a good look at her was literally years ago [jeez, almost 3 years ago, actually] and I didn't really have the chance to interact with her to tell the difference. Maybe it was just the hair).
