Work...

So,

work has been very, very... well, extreme.  Saturday, I worked for just about 12 hours.  I was technically let off about 8:00 (after a near 10 hours of work), but the store was crushed and understaffed at the moment, and ... I dunno, it's something I can't exactly just leave, y'know?  So I worked for another couple hours...  And, well, I was exhausted.

Also, keep in mind, my weekend was rather on the booked side (days worth of work, and meeting the photographer down in Tacoma, etc.) And in this busy weekend, I was supposed to write my final *final* piece for music theory.  Which was, by the way, completely open-ended, and a very big deal.

So, here I had literally very, very little time for this piece.  Not only that, the day before it was due, (this past Monday), I had to open the store (yes, I led a shift.  I felt very important, but then again, not terribly important either), and THEN I had to go to the ballroom dance class with Cortney, because it's the last class before the final.  So, I got home that night around 9:30-ish, with a desperate need to finish my music and write up my term outline, both due in the morning.

*UG*

But, I did it.

I was up 'til 4 doing it, but I did it.  And presented it.  Basically, the first 2/3 of it was 12 tone style, and the last 1/3 was in a related set (see: set theory).  I wrote it to describe a scene from the book "Ship of Fools".  I read the passage in class before presenting the song.  Then the song went over very well, I think.  The teacher (Rick) had no complaints for it, and everyone commented that it described it well.  I wrote it for full string quartet, flute, piano, and electric guitar (for effect, you see).  Rick also really liked how I used the electric guitar.

But, aside from all that excitement.  I worked today, and unlike Saturday, it was *dead*.  As in, until about 2:30, the store only brought in $38 gross.  We were in the negatives by net.  It was bad.  They let me off around 5-ish, and I didn't even make $10 in tips and mileage.  Not so good, nope.

Anyway, maybe when I get time, I'll write about the coheed concert.
