December Classic Icons

Dec 30, 2007 23:03

Most of my graphic output was dispersed through the month in the form of Christmas gifts, but there are still thirty icons here--mostly icontest leftovers and spare bases I finally had time to work on. Here are Deborah Kerr, Janet Gaynor, Danny Kaye, Joan Blondell, Basil Rathbone, Katharine Hepburn, Tyrone Power, James Cagney, Clara Bow, Ginger Rogers, and Olivia de Havilland.

1-11: Deborah Kerr. I had the bases for these left over from her challenge a couple of months ago, but I didn't have time to use them until this past week. I'm quite pleased with a few of the results.

12-15: Janet Gaynor. Her challenge came in conjunction with the "pink" theme challenge, which may account in part for the blinding girlyness of these. #12 won a second-place award.

16-18: Danny Kaye, from bases left over from his challenge in November. #16 also features Virginia Mayo, and (if I'm not hugely mistaken) #18 features Edward G. Robinson--hence the title of the newspaper. #16 won a third-place award.

19-20: Joan Blondell, for the pink challenge. I thought the idea of the second one was sort of cute--although it appears the icon voters didn't agree.

21-22: Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes. Randomly made from two bases I had made a while back.

23-24: Katharine Hepburn, for the pink challenge. I like the rather Victorian look of #23, which won second place.

25-26: Tyrone Power. From two more spare bases left over from a challenge a couple of months ago.

27: James Cagney and pooch! I needed one last icon to fill out the thirty, so I whipped up this colorized job this afternoon. Jimmy + animals = <3!

28: Clara Bow, for a challenge focusing on her. I was in a rush that pre-Christmas week, and this was the only entry I made.

29: Ginger Rogers, for the pink challenge.

30. Olivia de Havilland, also for the pink challenge.

Thank you all for being part of Wolfbane Icons' first year. Have a happy new year full of bright and shiny icons!
