So I haven't updated here in a while. I've actually got something to talk about this time, so this won't be a complete waste of space.
So on Friday I'm getting a surgery done on my foot. *Is reading from the paper the surgeon wrote out for me.* I guess I have an "accessory navicular." I want them to give me the general anesthetic instead of a spinal because those just seem creepy. The procedure that I'm going to be having is called a "Kidner procedure," all that really means is they're taking out the bone. (It's a two hour procedure.) They are also going to shave part of the bone next to it so it doesn't jut out funny. I'll be on crutches for about three weeks or so, and I'll be in a cast for six weeks. (That's it!) I get strong narcotics, hey alright! and I also might get this thing called a "PainBuster." That's this balloonish thing that they somehow attach to my leg, and it keeps feeding painkillers directly into my wound. So it's like a catheter going directly into it, and once the balloon is empty, I have to remove it myself. That's a little gross and probably painful but hey I can take it. Many of you know that I have to take one to two weeks out of school. I'm aiming more for one, since I do like passing trig. Apparently there's going to be swelling for at least four months, and I think that's where I have to be careful (the surgeon drew many stars by this particular topic, so..) yeah. I'm going to feel stiffness early on (duh) and I probably will use this as an excuse to not drive. A major risk is tendon rupture. The goals of this surgery is to "reduce pain and deformity."
There. Now you know everything I do! I bet you feel special. If you bothered to read all that ramble.
I ran for my last time today before the surgery. It was great, except it made me realize that I'm terribly out of shape and there's nothing I can do about it now. But, no worrying about that now.
And that's it. I'm out of here.
