Well, as many of you know, yesterday was my birthday. And it was great.
First thing, right when I woke up, was the flamingos. Yes, that's right, flamingos. Pink plastic ones. There were nearly three dozen of them in our front yard, complete with an equally tacky neon green sign that said "We're on the scene because Sarah's 16!" Apparently there's some prank company you can hire to do that sort of thing, and mom and dad did. So we had a day-long yardful of flamingos.
Then, at breakfast, I got to open the present from mom and dad: the Special Edition DVDs of the first two Lord of The Rings movies! (not the third because it isn't out yet) That's four disks for each one, with 30 minutes of added scenes in Fellowship and 43 in Two Towers, and two disks each of special features including several hours worth of sketches and talk about nothing but costume design. It was amazing.
So I lazed around all day, watched some of that, played video games, and just hung out for a while. Emma was off in Amish Land with Moira, so I was on my own. Then Kate and I walked up to the library to return some books, and came back to my house to play Soul Calibur II and take Ed for a walk. Walking a cat is funny, especially one who's afraid of flamingos. Mom and I went to lunch at Max and Erma's, and I got a free peiece of Bannana Cream Pie because it was my birthday (along with the waitstaff singing).
Then more happy lazing around, handing out bad directions to Dave and Buster's for my party, and some more Lord of The Rings. Emma came home, and I got to open my present from her; The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson, yay!
Then the party. Dave and Buster's, an hour of unlimited games, including races, shooting, and ass-kicking in Tekken with Katie. Dinner, and all that, good fun, lots of loudness and almost all my friends (Lucy was in Canada and Kim's in Germany T_T), sitting by Katie (yay), oh, and that motion activated paper towel dispenser that we had a girl's field trip to the bathroom to see. When desert came around, Katie and I shared a piece of super-chocolate-fudgey-everything cake, and our entire end of the table put on fudge war paint with the chocolate sauce.
And now, because I can, I'm going to list all my other birthday presents: Some Catnip and catnip toys (from Peter), A cool leather bag for my Rune Stones and nifty bookmark (Sam), a $20 gift card for Barnes and Noble (Sam's mom), a really pretty ironwood wolf statuette/carving (Lindy), Prince of Persia (Collin and Tawny), a wolf wind chime (Rachel), and a really fun little pewter dragon statuette with red stained glass wings that are set on little springs so they wiggle around (Katie). And of course my birthday pixel pony, an okapi-colored stallion I named Jynx.
Oh, and Katie and I are planning to try to start an RP on the palace that will really last, and only devoted players can join. I'm busily working out the details of the world right now (complete with awesome map).
But that's all for now, ta-ta!
