I'm training my replacement for "Second Opinion". It's going well, but I HATE teaching people, so this is like pulling teeth for me. The upside to this is that she now is in charge of FedExes, so I get to leave early and not have to worry about it. This is nice. I'm sure that sounds extremely asshole-istic, but at this point, I'm sooo burned out from waiting for editors to get done for the day, I don't care. It's her job now...he he he. As for the job that I'm getting promoted to, I still need to get a feel for exactly what I'm in charge of. Right now, it's still a fog and there's really no one giving me a straight answer as to what my tasks are....hmmm, yay guessing games.

Two more days of house-sitting and then I go back home. This is good and bad. I'm spoiled, now, because I've had a house all to myself. Get to watch whatever TV I like to watch (granted, it isn't much, but at least it's not the "All War TV, All The Time" like my roommates like). I also don't miss walking on eggshells around A, thinking that whatever I'm doing is pissing him off, or trying to avoid T in his "I'm drunk, feel sorry for me" mood. I miss my own bed, shower, etc., though. (Their shower is somewhat older and the tiles have mildew in them and are cracked and stuff...ew). It's times like these where I wonder if I'm ever going to be able to live with someone...like in marriage, for example. I'm sure I'll piss off the other person to the point where the dog house will be my permanent abode. Eek.

In better news, I found out that I'm going to be performing on a weekend where 2 of my aunts and uncles will be in town, so they get to come watch me!!! I'm a little nervous because one set of these are the parents of my cousin, Ben, who is the other musician in the family that I've looked up to - and had a fierce competition with - all my life. It's not the friendly kind, either (well, ok, it is...but still). For instance, when I was in Jr. High and he was finishing up HS, our conversations would consist of:
"Hey Ben! I just composed an opera!"
"That's cool, I just conducted a piece that I composed at Juillard"

Yeah...it's that kind of friendly competition.

And finally, I've got softball tonight. ::sigh:: Another opportunity to loose a game. At least this is teaching us humility, but methinks we've learned it...a lot, thanks. Would be nice to win one...please?

band, work, softball, wally
