Buy a year of London's history

For those of you who want to celebrate your history in a more permanent way you can make a donation of £5,000 or more and give us your favourite year of London's history from 1666 to 2012.

Your gift will be acknowledged on a timeline in the new galleries at Museum of London with your year and reason celebrated for everyone to see. See what years are still available to buy.

Contact the Development Team on development@museumoflondon.org.uk if you are interested in being part of London's history.

What year would you buy?
Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London

'I have chosen the year 2012 because although it is not a part of the capital's great history yet, 2012 will be a year enjoyed and remembered by Londoners and people around the globe when we have the opportunity to host the Olympic and Paralympics Games.

'The games will celebrate London's diversity, creativity and openness. Leading up to 2012 London will stage an inspirational programme of cultural activities beginning when the Beijing Olympics in 2008 is completed and the baton is passed to London for the 2012 Games. Work is underway to ensure that the infrastructure is ready to stage the Games in the Olympic village in East London and in other venues across London.

'When the Games are over the Olympic village will become facilities and parks, forming residential, employment and leisure opportunities creating a powerful legacy that will benefit this city well beyond 2012'.
