LONDON: A LIFE IN MAPS NOW OPEN
EXPLORE LOST LONDON IN THIS NEW LANDMARK EXHIBITION
Explore London as you have never seen it before, as this once in a lifetime exhibition brings the city to life in maps. From a mere Roman outpost to the huge, heaving metropolis of today and beyond to a future Olympic city, see the transformation of the capital in magnificent maps and panoramas.
Through maps, views, letters, and ephemera from the British Library collections, witness how London's growth spreads before you. At the same time, lesser known images will enable you to see why and how these changes happened, and to catch a glimpse of Londoners' lives and values, hopes and fears, preoccupations and aspirations through the ages.

British Library Displays ALEXIS KERSEY - FINAL WEEKS
NEW COMPANY SCHOOL PAINTINGS CLOSES 31 DECEMBER 2006
Fusing his western perspectives on high art with the pictorial language of Indian street advertising, Kersey has created a contemporary form of the Company School. By subverting the obvious colonial bias of this oeuvre, he has created a mythological realm where alternative realities are imagined for the globalised age. Experimentally extending the function of the Company School, Kersey's works re-examine definitions of ethnicity, tradition, nation and empire. See them while you can on the second and third floors.
