My grandparents bought me a new digital camera so now that I have fast internet at home I will definitely be posting pictures in here...
Today Sam and I were riding (Quincy and Diamond) and we went for this mini-trail ride that turned really bad. Quincy spooked, which spooked Diamond - I was on Diamond. Well apparently my saddle was really, really loose and I hadn't realized it because next thing I know my saddle has slipped onto Diamond's side and he's cantering away in fright. I knew I couldn't stay like that, so I had to let myself fall off. I landed on my back, which didn't hurt, except I hit my head pretty hard and the initial place where I landed (the back part of my hip) is severely bruised. Well when I landed I grabbed my glasses (they had fallen off) and looked up to see Diamond had stopped some ways away and Sammi shouted "Ho Diamond! Good boy!" and then she screeched and was gone. Well there's this lip where we were riding and there's a steep bank going down about 5-6 feet and then it goes into a pretty deep stream. Her horse, Quincy, had slipped down the side and had fallen onto his knees/chest all the way into the water. When I stood up they were in the water, standing (I have no idea HOW) and I shouted "Are you okay!" And she said "Yeah but I gotta get outta here!" cuz Quincy was sinking up to his knees in mud. So she spurred him and they came out on the OPPOSITE side of the stream. Meanwhile, I'm starting to feel light-headed because now that Sam was safe my body was like "Okay, now how are YOU?" And my head's like "Uh... we took a hit." And I managed to walk to Diamond and look at his saddle before things got really, really white and I fainted. I faint a lot. Anyway, I didn't fall or even stumble, Sam said it looked like I was a zombie or something. I was doing everything automatically - undoing the cinch, re-adjusting the saddle, etc etc. I don't remember doing any of that, but I did because when I woke up from my faint I was leaning against Diamond's neck and my saddle was all done and what not. I've fainted many times, so I didn't freak out or anything, because I know what it's all about. But this faint was very different... Usually things go white and it's like I'm just sleeping, but this was like I was almost dreaming in my sleep. I saw Dan and I dancing in this field and I had a white dress on and he was wearing cowboy stuff. That's all I remember seeing before I woke up again, a bit confused because I expected to be on the ground... But I was fine. Sam was still stuck on the other side of the river, and I was waking myself up more fully and Sam was shouting "Uh... Mindi??" But I got back into the saddle which woke me up fully (finally) and then we set about to coaxing Quincy to go back into the water and on the right side of the stream. It took awhile but he finally came. It was a very interesting ride!!
On the upside of that journey, before we went on this trail ride we were riding out in the pasture and I took a bunch of pictures and one video with Sam and I cantering. It's pretty funny, the picture bounces all over the place. Hehe. I'm not sure how to upload videos though...
Tomorrow I go home, and I'll see Dan... And then Saturday I'm at this OHSU ER Nurse thing from 9-5 and Sunday I'm (hopefully) going to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Jason and Dan and whoever and then those two brutes are coming back to my house. They're going to make one super computer for me using my parts and my mum's old computer parts... I'll finally have a 40GB computer! lol *wow* That's the size of my MP3 player... *snort/laugh* Impressive... not really... ANYWAY... So yeah... my ass/hip/back area hurts... There's lots of cuts and punctures and a massive bruise (the size of Australia I say). I've been playing a lot with Moose - he's such an adorable puppy. I have some pics of him that I'll post here when I get home... Probably be up tomorrow then... *shrug*
