Warning: pic spam ahead!

After attempting to clean and fix up our camera, which has taken a real beating this past year, we needed to test it. So Sunday afternoon Hubby and I headed down to Miami Metrozoo to play around with it. Squeeing at the kangaroos, koala (ohmygoshcuddly!), rhinocermoose, giraffes, zebra, and kissin' camels. I'm gonna go home tonight and cuddle my teddy bear and imagine that it's that koala. (They're one of my favorite animals, you see.)

May I please use some of these for icons if I give you credit for the photos?

One of my best friends is a koala freak, so I always try and get a few pictures for her everytime we're at a zoo. This one was moving around and had his eyes open right before I pulled our the camera. *pout* Too slow.

Feel free to use any pics that you like.

At some point I may make a few icons, but right now i'm still bogged down finishing my Veterans Day icons.

Thank you kindly! They don't let us that close to the koalas at Los Angeles or San Diego, and they're always behind glass, so getting a good picture is tough. (You can get closer to the pandas at San Diego than you can to the koalas, for crying out loud!)

This guy was behind glass as well, but I went armed with paper towels. ;-)

I've never been to the LA zoo, but I thought I remembered the San Diego koalas being in an open enclosure surrounded by a boardwalk. Or am I confusing my zoos? It's been over a decade since I've been to San Diego. *tries to ignore the passing of time*

You're half-right about the San Diego exhibit. Some of them are in those open enclosures with boardwalks, but there are also some enclosures that are behind glass. And (now that you've jogged my memory) I've only ever seen one koala on one of those outside trees.

I didn't remember the glass enclosure. It's been quite a while, I guess this just means that I need to find an excuse to get back there. ;-)

It's well-worth it. The pandas are beautiful, of course, and they're the stars of the zoo.
