Unlike her father and her grandmother's side of the family, Millie hasn't been able to approach relationships on as instinctual a level as they. In high school, she thought that her boyfriend -- a were she'd known for some time -- smelled 'right'. Thinking she'd found the perfect guy for her, they had sex in her senior year.
He cheated on her soon after with a non-were cheerleader. She dumped him, and he started dating the cheerleader. That relationship ended when, during a full moon, he killed and ate her poodle. None of the Pack has been accused of negligence surrounding this incident.
She realized, after the dust had settled, that he just used a good-smelling brand of soap and kept up his personal hygiene more than the average high school boy.
Since then, she's taken a less serious approach to relationships. Sex is still something she takes seriously, and will at least limit it to being with people she trusts and cares about. And after some of her mother's lectures that managed to be convincing without bringing up disconcerting details of family history, she's rather insistent on using birth control every time.
Somewhere out there, there is a guy who smells perfectly right to her. When she meets him, she'll know without question, and kick herself for ever making the mistake before. Until that time comes, she's content with her dating habits as they are.
