I have acquired a kind-of-broken Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop that is a fair bit faster than my Thinkpad T23. It is no replacement to my T23 for sure. It has some problems. It is the bad end of taking two laptops with broken cases and making a good one. The front plastic frame for the LCD is completely absent and so are the mouse buttons. The battery is dead. I ripped it open to contemplate recelling it, but that is as far as I have gotten. The laptop is still without a battery. It has a rubpad mouse, which I detest, so I am learning keyboard shortcuts at an accelerated rate. I was pushing directly against the pads on the circuit board under the mouse buttons until today. I made a little wooden frame that holds some rubber buttons in place. It is ugly but much more usable than it was. It is running Debian. The hostname is keukegen.
