Full lunar eclipse today. The moon's copper right now, but it'll probably get darker within the next half hour. I dragged and kicked my sister out of bed to see it. She's busy curling up on the floor in a blanket, but occasionally she peeks up to stare out the window.
We went outside to take pictures. They're not very good. The sky's pixelated in black and blue and the moon's a red smudge. But what else did you expect from a regular digital camera. The sky's amazing though. Clear of clouds, speckled with stars. It's like it knew something magical was happening right now.
My friends are at the campus observatory right now, probably huddled together in someone's car and talking about anything except the moon. They came from Frederick. I would've gone, but I don't have a ride.
Well, the wind's feeling particularly disgruntled today. So now there're clouds washing out everything. You can still kind of see the moon, but it disappears from time to time. I don't think we'll be able to see much more tonight.
Anyway, the purpose of this post was to rub into Laura's face what she missed. :P
