I love numbered lists

A couple of thoughts:

1. My favorite sign in Chicago: (on a lamppost) Drive Safely, We Can Wait. Sponsored by, appropriately, The Oakwood Cemetary and Mausoleum.

2. I have a dirty little cable TV addiction to the show Miami Ink. It's a series about a tattoo parlor. It's awesome. Last week, this huge burly man came in to get a tattoo of his dearly departed cat "Freckles." Quote from said man, "Freckles was with me through everything. She was always there for me whenever I needed her."

3. Boston in 6 days.

4. Yesterday as I was carrying a 50 pound box of books into the post office, FIVE people watched me struggle with opening the door. NONE of them opened it. I'm not asking someone to carry it for me, I can do that myself, but come on, open the freaking door for me!

5. My dog is the laziest creature on this planet. He sleeps for 20 hours a day, and jumps excitedly during the remaining 4 hours (when there's food around).

6. Yesterday, the kids next door were yelling and screaming. My mom was getting annoyed. I said, "wow, they're loud." Her reponse? "Don't worry, they'll go off to some 'special' school in a couple of years and we won't hear them anymore."

7. Speaking of the kids next door, the younger one has two settings: scream mode and wail mode. Gah.

8. I almost bought a pair of pants purely because they were originally $550 dollars, and were on sale for $80. Then I realized that I'd be spending $80 on pants and put them back.

9. Nick coming to visit on Friday! Lots of unfounded judgments on every person we see to ensue. Anything to make ourselves feel/seem smarter and more successful. Because really, feeling successful is really the meaning of life.

And now that you know the meaning of life, go back to your regular activities.
