My family are always delegated a couple of items to prepare for Christmas lunch. I helped write up the list this year to make sure every single thing wasn't meat based. *shudder*
Anyway, Ken and I will be contributing a very simple four bean salad, and a chocolate and strawberry cheesecake, which I'm yet to try but the recipe looks good! Will post it to the comm if it's a nice one.
For boxing day, my friends all get together and have a "crap gift swap" and a bbq. Basically, if you've received a real shocker of a christmas gift (ie: a blue rhinestone encrusted lobster brooch or a jesus desk clock - both items I got one year from family), you re-wrap the gifts and take them along, and after lunch, we each choose a "new" gift and laugh in horror at what people have given us all for Christmas. (The guy that ended up with my Jesus clock works for Telstra, and he took it to work where actually, his team thought it was frigging hilarious. It's still sitting on his desk to this day. Glad it found a good home!)
Anyway, I'll be taking a Sweet Potato Pie and some cranberry blondies to that bash. (Can't remember if I posted the blondies recipe, but can/will when I get a chance.)
