House burger

Jul 14, 2007 23:02

Ingredients
900g lean beef mince
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped fresh continental parsley
1 large brown onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, crushed (non-garlic lovers, this would be fine with 2)
2 eggs
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp red Tabasco pepper sauce (optional) and/or 1 tsp of ground chilli, or to taste
1 tbs chicken stock powder

Method

Place the beef mince, breadcrumbs, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Use your hands to mix until evenly combined.

Divide the mixture into balls and shape each portion into a patty about 1.5cm thick.

Heat enough oil to coat the bottom of a fry pan. Brown each side for about 2 minutes each.

Place half cooked patties into a 180C oven for 10 minutes (on a rack). This allows any excess fat to drip off.

Serve patties with hamburger toppings of choice on a hamburger bun/turkish bread
