Figs, ahh yes. Glorious, glorious figs!

Y'know a lot can be said for a fig. While I'd love to say I eat it purely for the taste I'd be lying. Apart from the dietary benefits, humans have been eating it for eons, but one of the reasons I love it so much is it just LOOKS so damn GREAT. It's mysterious, a little secretive (no, i'm not drunk) - hard to fathom what it looks like inside based on it's soft, greeny brown exterior. I'd do almost anything to relive the first moment I opened a fig up to discover these crazy seedlings inside, oozing out like all quality fruits do. Maybe it's erotic (it probably is), maybe it's the fact I love food that can make you want to eat it just by the way it looks, but figs are one of my all time favourite.

So. Rants aside. I'd love to know what anyone has done with figs which has or may work. Great combinations I've discovered are roasting it with balsamic vinegar either for a starter (with Parmesan and goats cheese anyone?) or simply adding a humble greek yogurt and a good quality honey to make a lovely dessert.

SIGNED. MAD FIG LOVER.
