Cheap Eats - Well, Cheap Shops

Oh yeah, we just got back from Aldi and some bargains were acquired!!!! Good finds included various nibbley biscuity things (choux pastry with sour cream and chives filling biscuity things, fancy cheese twisty things), general cheap finds ($1 for a huge fresh portion of rocket lettuce - it'll be balsamic vinegar, olive oil, roasted pine nuts and parmesan cheese on that tonight; cheap tins of tuna; cheap frozen peas; $1 tin of smoked oysters) and surprisingly good fresh produce (avocados for 69c each).

I love my food, but hot diggity, if I can save my money on buying it - I certainly will. That's why I'm at Paddy's market during the week, at Chinese shops buying ingredients/vegetables, Market City for the fantastic, cheap butcher (Thai Kee Butcher - CHECK IT OUT for $17/kg New York steaks and sensational eye fillet), the fish markets at Paddy's.

There are some things I won't compromise on - but if I can do better for cheaper - SIGN ME UP.
