to a hammer, everything is a nail
i haven't been very good about writing about shows lately. not saying that's going to change either but i'll try. however, this isn't going to be that post...but a quick recap of the year so far and a present to share!
after closing out 2008 seeing garrison starr and erin mckeown at the tin angel, i've made it to an open rehearsal by throwing muses, vienna teng at the emelin, amy speace at joe's pub, and, this past thursday, chris pureka and erin mckeown at southpaw. strangely, i didn't record any of these shows. very out of character, i know. smoemeth was particularly disappointed about the southpaw show not being recorded.
BUT!
somehwat mysteriously, mp3s of a board recording of erin's set appeared in my inbox! with permission to share with any and all who are interested! so, if you are, feel free to snag either the individual files or a zip from mediafire. it's missing the cover of beyonce's "single ladies" and the between-song banter has been cut but it sounds great and features several new songs from the forthcoming record. enjoy!
