about last week...
work work work work work work work. new chief information officer + umpteen hundred new programs starting up + all the usual stuff has lead to the resurgence of working on the weekend. sad but true. not so strangely, it is kind of nice to be able to focus on things without the distractions of new cow-orkers (another one starting monday), demos (another one monday afternoon), meetings, phone calls, and so forth. however, it's not so nice to be doing that while sitting at the dining room tables on a saturday morning when i should be sleeping or cruising emusic or reading or something less productive. there's more to do as well. i could put it off until monday but i think i'll do a bit more during the giants/eagles game tonight. maybe that'll keep me awake long enough to see the end of a sunday night game for a change!
fun week of music coming up: the herbaliser at the knitting factory on tuesday, katell keineg at the living room on friday, and the jamie baum septet at firehouse 12 here in new haven on friday. hopefully i'll get my butt to something rather than laming out since smoemeth is out in la-la land this week.
speaking of smoemeth, she made baked beans today. they're not done yet but they smell great! mmmmmmm beans. can't wait!
oh yeah, president-elect obama. yow.
