i thought i was mistaken / i thought i heard your words
after dropping smoemeth off at the train station on saturday morning, i drove up to my parents' for the mother's day weekend. had a good visit with the folks that, in addition to the visit itself, featured weeding, speidies, two beers, ice cream cones, high fives and fist pumps with my youngest nephew, mowing the lawn, cutting down hedges, brunch, grilled steak, and falling asleep on the couch. good times!
intended to leave after dinner sunday night but we got caught up watching the players championship and i didn't hit the road until close to 8. as usual, i didn't stop once and got home a little before midnight and didn't even doze off once during the drive! (chalk that up to the dumb sox losing to the twins on espn radio for keeping my grrrrrr factor sufficiently amped up.)
grand plans for tonight -- laundry, cleaning out the hallway, working on some random show -- are shelved due to lethargy. we'll try again tomorrow night.
smoemeth is gone to nashville and atlanta and comes back wednesday night so i have a couple nights of bachelorhood. peter case is at cafe nine on wednesday. thursday is rachael sage's big cd release show thursday night at joe's pub. friday, eilen jewell's at cafe nine. looks to be a quiet weekend though ... unless i'm missing something.
