since the first jody grind torrent went over pretty well, i put up the incomplete recording of the night before. this one might sound a smidge better than the other show, but if so, not by much. it does include one song that they didn't play the other night though: hank thompson's "drunkard's blues". interesting note: this is the first show i ever recorded. (ps to dolphmusic and anybody else: mp3s of both coming.)
sleepytime gorilla museum show last night very good. the main set was strong, packed with songs from the new record and babydoctor, but the encore (hymn to the morning star > donkey-headed adversary > sleep is wrong) was astoundingly amazing! that was the closest i've come to the first-time-no-idea-what-what-just-happened euphoria i had after their 2003 set at tonic with the dresden dolls. i miss that feeling.
in other news, my brother and sister-in-law went to a seminar by the ghost hunters tonight. he posted photos and the second picture is proof that he may just be funnier than me. but not by much.
picked up some wittekerke from cherry hill today. i meant to try it during the afternoon when the sun was still up ... but i took a nap. a long one. for three hours. and sort of slept through the rest of the day. just as well since it hadn't chilled yet. trying some now and it's not bad. not the best belgian white i've ever had but still pretty good.
finally, smoemeth comes back from the left coast tonight! the plane landed, just waiting to hear which train she's on. woo!
