sing you sinners!
although the physical release of erin mckeown's new album sing you sinners in north america won't come until january of next year, the digital release of the album was this week, concurrent with the cd release of the album in europe. while erin's site mentions itunes, it's also on emusic where you can get the album in good ol', drm-free mp3s. just did so myself but i'm falling asleep so i'll wait until tomorrow to listen to it.
this record is her irreverant but charming take on standards, broadway and tin pan alley. it features todd sickafoose on bass, alison miller on drums and sam kassirer on keys. if you want to get a taste of what it's all about, swing by erin's myspace and check out the streaming title track.
also, a head's up for those who are interested, the shins' new album leaked today. i found it up on usenet but i'm sure it's elsewhere by now as well.
