wills is funnnn...
i love my wills prof, despite the awful exam i'm expecting. here's some great quotes i keep finding in my notes:
about changing your will: "put it somewhere where it's safe from people who won't like it, and where it's safe from you. don't leave it on your night table, don't look at it while you've been drinking..."
on putting money into a trust for someone who then becomes completely disabled: "so if he tries to seek more money, does he have a leg to... *pause* i can't believe i just said that."
about the mental capacity to make a will: "even an insane person could have a lucid interval. we are all capable of having a lucid moment, and i hope you all have one during the exam."
also on capacity to make a will: "the mental capacity needed to make a will is very low. the only standard that is lower is marriage. it's a fundamental right, so we don't deny anyone based on capacity... as we could maybe see by the divorce rate."
about attorneys being sued for making mistakes: "you know what it's like around finals when you're trying to study for a hundred exams AND write a paper... you get a little negligent..."
