Today: Week 3 Session 1 (50 minutes): Run 1 minute 30 sec, walk 3 minutes 30 sec. Repeat 10 times.
Oddly enough, today was not quite the hurdle I'd been dreading. Physically I could feel new and exciting (insert sarcasm) body parts, but it was not the mental overload I'd worried about. Visual goals (i.e., that lamppost, that trashcan) seem to be far more effective, even if it's just in a "if I make it to that stoplight I can check the time" kind of way. Oddly enough, I found myself far less desperate to be DONE RUNNING by the end of the extra 30 seconds than I was when it was just a minute. Posture is getting easier, although I still have to think about it, but I definitely notice the difference. The first minute and a half was definitely the worst - and definitely the slowest. I will be winning no races. But two weeks ago, I wouldn't have been running at all... so there you go!
