Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 6

Fandom Snowflake details here.

Day 6: In your own space, rec at least 3 fanworks you thought you wouldn't like (because they weren't your fandom or they pushed against your boundaries or you thought you just wouldn't be interested) and that you ended up loving.

This was harder than I thought, largely because I will read most anything, given half a chance. But here's three. :D

And All The World Beneath, by seperis. SGA/SPN. McKay/Sheppard, Sam/Dean. Warnings: incest, apoca!fic). I just... never had a real desire to read fic for SPN. I love the show, I'm just not compelled to read fic. I have no idea why. Moreover, I have limited interest in the Lovecraftian mythology, and a hard time with apoca!fic generally. But this fic - I re-read this on a terrifyingly regular basis. I adore it. It's just incredibly, incredibly well done, and I highly recommend it.

It Doesn't Mean You Can Explain The Ocean, by rageprufrock. SPN. Sam/Dean. Warnings: incest, or at least the hypothetical thereof. Again, I'm just not a big reader of SPN fic. This is another frequent re-read, though - for the dynamic between Sam and Dean, the marvelous OCs, and the abiding sense of place.

Lost at The Edge of The Sun, by james. Hawaii 5-0. Steve/Danny. I read a lot in this fandom, so this isn't really a "not initially inclined" fic so much as it's a fic that I re-read frequently despite the fact that it hits very close to some very deep fears of mine about losing your home, and fronting it with friends and family. It's just so carefully, quietly, beautifully done that I can't help but re-read.
