Dear Apple:
About your nano music player...
Either include in the warranty the ability to get a low-cost replacement in case of water damage,
OR
Sell the player new for half of what you're currently charging...
Because the nano is designed in such a way as to virtually require multiple purchases for these reasons:
1. The sleek lines of the case design make it incredibly likely that anyone searching pockets from the outside of pants will absolutely not find it, thus guaranteeing repurchase after it goes through a washing machine even once.
2. The total lack of securing points on the outside of the case absolutely promise the little nano will jerk loose of the only contact point (the headphone jack), leading to jarring impact on cement if your customer is lucky, and a quick drop into some nearby watery depths if the customer is not so lucky.
True, all one has to do to determine if their nano has died the Final Death is to leave it in a bag of rice for 48 hours without turning it on before then. However, the chances of a customer failing to flick the power switch at least once in the vain hope of instant recovery, thus shorting out the entire device, is close to nil.
I submit that you have willfully designed this sliver of glass and plastic in a way that basically guarantees multiple repurchases.
