🗁 Arashi Journey (AJ) ～準備が出来た！
Tomorrow I begin my Arashi Journey 🌈
This is my attempt to watch, in chronological order, as much Arashi content as I can reasonably find. Rare/missing shows, most guest appearances or interviews and other specific things will be excluded, mostly for practicality. Albums/Singles will be listened to, including MVs when possible, on their release dates. I will also be listening to radio shows when time allows, mainly for Japanese study, but not necessarily in order.
I hope to document much of the journey here (although consistency with journaling is not a strength of mine).
I have made my own calendar to track dates, but due to the large amount of media I am willing to be slightly flexible with inaccuracies in that regard. I don't have a specific plan for how much I will watch at a time, but I'm likely to binge when possible or take long breaks when necessary. I am curious to see how long this process will take!
My main goal in this journey is to indulge and enjoy a fandom that I have been a part of for over 16 years. Arashi has been a home I keep returning to, a safe and joyful place that continues to resonate with me even as my other interests fluctuate. A secondary goal, especially later on with mainly RAW material, is to improve my Japanese language skills. The third goal is to satisfy a hunger for organizing and maintaining my archive of media, which brings its own enjoyment. The final goal is to hopefully document my thoughts, capture the imagery and record observations, so that I can return to them later for reference or insight.
An especially fortuitous sign emerged just yesterday when I realized that the first show on my list debuted exactly 27 years ago tomorrow (October 18th, 1997). I had been organizing my files and this calendar the past few weeks thinking I would start soonish, but now I am certain that tomorrow is the perfect day to dive in.
The list starts sparingly in the late 90s but gets more busy as weekly variety shows and member dramas start to multiply. Although I'm excited to get to the later content, I will take this journey step by step and try to fully appreciate all that has been given to us by the talented and charming members of a magical group that somehow came into my life and left a permanent imprint on my SOUL SOUL.
