Here I am again... *looks around* ... it takes some time getting used to LJ again, I guess.

Today at the old people's home, an old lady wanted to sing one special song and I was happy to oblige because they are so passive most of the time and we just skip through the book front to back or back to front. Anyway, what she said was this: "I'd really love to sing that song, we were always singing it in Hitler Youth."
How to proceed from there? I went something like "Er, okay, it's a nice song but we don't need to do it like in the Hitler Youth. That time is long past and the song is still there." And the old lady: "And good riddance that godawful time is over!" to general approval from the people next to her. I'm so glad Alzheimer didn't turn my old peoples into Nazis.

My nice, young, new flatmate arrived today while I was out working. And to help her with her stuff, she brought her Mum and Dad. Who are forty-somethings. I feel so old.

According to M's fitness Wii, I'm 51 anyway. But I beat everyone at bowling and didn't have that much trouble centering my balance (balancing my centre?). As long as I was allowed to keep both feet on the ground. Anyway, crazy stuff. And it was a plan-and-organise meeting, again. Only I'd spent hours at the office trying to scan sheet music and so missed out on most of the work, but not on the food, the wine or the Wii.
On the way back, I told Guitar (who likes opera too) all about my Tosca experience. And now I'm right back on track. Heeelp. But it's so beautiful, the precioussss. Why oh why do they want to scrap the Eye?

tosca, rl
