I have never kept such a strict eye on any Rookie performance before. I mean, for groups like SHINee and f(x), I kept an eye out for their personalities, not their talent, because I can be assured of their talents later. It's their personalities (and SMTown relations are always a draw). ... Because Infinite is Woolim though (and the MV was off the chain D8), I think I had some expectations beyond that.
Of course, they don't disappoint. Don't be fooled by my laziness. I didn't embed them because I don't have time to find the embed link while typing this post and simultaneously studying for a final in 2 hours. -woke up late-
I never really fall to Rookie group hype (especially when it comes to idol bands) until they prove some sort of... "More Than Just Another Band" type of thing. For SJ, I think anyone who fans SJ knows what the draw is. 2AM/PM. DBSK. After School. BEG. SNSD. 2NE1. SHINee. f(x). I knew from the fact that Epik High supported them, and from the random bits we got to see of them that they would be a group to watch out for. And once I saw their MV, it was established in my mind that they would be 2PM status. "Come Back" is their "10 points out of 10". They just need their own Wild Bunny. (That Oppar show was not it.--And this is an analogy of popularity and perhaps genre of variety, not group.)
I'm glad to say Infinite will join the ranks of those popular groups with amazingly large fanclubs on the point that they have an ordinary song (catchy pop using old beat) made into a fresher tune, matched with the most fitting and fun choreo. The chorus dance, I can tell, will be a popular one. Not so much in the way that Sorry Sorry or Tell Me are, but the Sorry Sorry-esque move they have with the feet? It's a good move and the group pulls it of with style and a finesse rare in a lot of new groups. Also, I had expected this, because there is this thing attached to their label, but their live singing... they are on-key and have stronger voices than most. I am defn not disappoint |)
But maybe they will slip under the radar and be underrated since not all the members are fabulous looking. SJ can get away with that bc there were a billion members. Only 7? HMMmm... who knows?
... lol, in short, I have high hopes for them. :3
