hey y'all! the physics is surprisingly easy
I supported the local economy today by purchasing a book at Copperfields instead of online at Barnes & Nobles like I usually do. yes, I applaud myself too. Well, Stirrat was just so convincing that I couldn't help it.
But the whole thing about Deaf Dog vs. Starbucks I'm not so convinced about. It's so commonly thought buying Deaf Dog is better in every aspect, but Starbucks sells fair trade coffee, and I don't think Deaf Dog does. Fair trade coffee means that the money Starbucks pays for the coffee goes directly to the farmer and not through some middleman. Starbucks also sponsors a whole bunch of literacy and community projects. I know Deaf Dog is at least locally owned, which would help locally, but I'd rather have the money I'm paying for coffee go directly to the farmers in some third-world country than some sleazy profit-mongering middleman.
Whew. Too much deep thinking for post-physics, post-O.C. draining mind-slump.
I actually do love the Chinese food my parents feed me. I think I'll miss it in college.

I finally discovered what the Harvard mascot is! It's not the BOOK or ENCYCLOPEDIA like whats-his-name said. It's John Harvard. And the sports teams are the "Crimsons." Hmph... reminds me of menstrual flows... eek.
