"Trust is like a piece of delicate glass. Handblown to perfection. Molded to fit neatly inside of our souls. It`s under lock and key. It`s protected and fragile. One slip and it could shatter into a million pieces. We painstakingly glue it back together, but there is always a piece missing. It`s the piece we have chosen to give to someone. We never get that piece back nor do we want it back. It`s been tainted and stained. Forever ruined by carelessness and inconsideration. We all have given our trust to someone only to have it rammed back down our throats. It hurts. It changes who we are. Some handle it better than others. Some choose the right people to give it to. There are some, that have had their trust so damaged that they swallow the key that protects it. The pain of retrieving the key is usually more than we are willing to bear."
