Four years ago
How I remember that day
Summer of eigth grade
On our way to high school
Little did we know
What laid ahead
Yellow tape and police cars
Surrounding your house
The phone call that lead to questioning
I replayed out friendship
Background noises
Of people searching for clues
Large amounts of blood
Your face all over the news
Newspapers telling your story
It all died down
Wishing you would come back
Hoping you were in another state
Saying you needed time away
Four years later
October 19, 2005, you're found
Novermber 2, 2005, I get the call
Grim news but a sense of closure
Mind and body in shock
2001 brought back to life
All in a matter of seconds
Back on the news again
It's so sad remembering
You were only fourteen
Barely beginning your life
We would've graduated together
All the things I've experienced
Since you've been gone
You'll never be able to
Four years later
April 15, you would've been eighteen
Off to college to start your life
Instead, its off to the cemetary
Buried six feet instead of twenty
A place to rest in peace
Friends and family will remember
Your uplifting personality
Your smile and sense of humor
The times we laughed so hard
Until we cried and our stomachs hurt
The days we hung out
Without a care in the world
Free of responsibility
Now you're gone
Away in a better place
You will never be forgotten
In our minds and thoughts, always
Forever
In Loving Memory of Danielle Romero
