well-5 days and counting! i will be on the rock soon and having read another person's posts i am thinking it may not be remote enough! still part of this country, dammit! all i can think is- maybe the apocalypse will come and air transport will be unavailable and we will be left to our own devices?.... i dont know what to think. i have come across a neighborhood assoc online for my new neighborhood and it seems very helpful. no there are no "you cant do that on your property" kind of laws in there thankfully! only "lets join together and get the roads fixed or trash taken care of" sort of things. i like it so far! they have neighborhood events and stuff so may be kinda cool to join. there are 75 miles of road in this neighborhood! whew! and our little 3 acres is in the back near a rainforrest reserve so it will be pretty quiet i am guessing! the only native mammal there is the hoary bat (endangered) and the whales of course(some also endangered). of course, the whales wont be in my neighborhood... i think i would like to put up a few bat boxes around our lot for insect control. just dont know if they live in those things. neither do the officials! apparently there are also wild pigs running amuk out there! and they will tear up a garden! i truly dont want to get a dog but i may have to! didnt want to put up a fence either but with pigs running around.... so anyways, i am nervous and excited to be going finally! my future landlord will be picking me up from the airport and taking me back to the house/cabana. he has been very helpful! seems everyone out there is helpful! what is the deal with people on the mainland? no common courtesy or overly rare to see some! actually- i am wrong- people here on the west coast are very different than the east coast as well! its just me i guess! having not worked these last two months i am getting back to being my old self again. still have some highs and lows but not pressured to do anything makes them less hilly! if only i were independently wealthy enough to not have to work again! man! i have agreed to pay my sister some money towards the lot and was actually thinking i may see if i can just buy it from her as she doesnt really want to live there anytime soon. she could always buy another one nearby..... or somewhere else! i dont know- alot depends whats going on when i get there! ok- too many words here, gotta go! got stuff to mail before i go and its not going to get there by itself now is it?....
