Ah, Nostalgia...

The player's rival from Pokemon GSC is the first video game character I've ever had a crush on. I was, I think, all of 11 years old at the time.

So, when I popped in my copy of SoulSilver, and saw him in the opening video, and heard the first few notes of the "Rival Battle" theme, it made me smile.

It might not have all the new pokemon like in Platinum, but I might just end up liking it more.

I wonder if it's possible to use to GTS to trade between two Pokemon games you own?

On a different note, my mom found a craigslist ad for a video game webiste columnist. I wonder - do I dare try it?

On yet another note, I bought at the mall the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks for $100. My mom thought it was a bit much to spend, and my sister wonders why I don't just use her iTunes program, but what can I say? I like actually owning physical CDs of my own, and these were ones I've been wanting for years. I have to have /something/ to listen at work, after all, and though those CDs sometimes come through the library loan system, you can't count on that. Plus this way I can put them on my little MP3 player and listen to them with headphones, so as not to bore the other workers by playing the same things all the time.

Was it too much to spend? I don't splurge on little things, so when I do spend a lot, it's only after careful thought, and I don't do it very often. Plus, I like to think I'm supporting Barnes & Noble and the music industry.

I'll have to make sure I play them for Mom sometimes so she can learn to appreciate my "investment"...
