Pokemon Obtained!
I just traded Pokemon with someone in Japan.
The Global Trade System in Platinum might have some quirks, but it's the only way for someone like me - someone who doesn't know anyone nearby who plays the games - to trade Pokemon at all.
Now if only I could get a Gengar, /that/ would be something. There's an NPC in the game who will trade you Haunter (Gengar's previous form), and normally the Haunter would evolve upon being traded, but wouldn't you know, the silly NPC had an Everstone attached so it wouldn't evolve. Really, what were the designers /thinking/? I guess they just like to mess with our heads :/
