- Our weekly construction meeting was in the new building on Friday - it's coming along really nicely, and I'm super-impressed by our building contractor. I think we really made the right decision in going with them.
- I think (hope) I'm done with the major part of my role on
IRIS (if it's on DARPA's site, I'm figuring I can mention it here!). Was in the office for a couple of chunks yesterday; nothing today planned.
- I love my Yuletide assignment! Not sure I can write it in less than 10K words, and not sure where I'd find time to do get anything of any length written, but I really want to try. I've started plotting; I need to rewatch some canon next.
- Unfortunately, didn't get my "Dear Author" letter writ until after the sign-ups had frozen, so I couldn't link to it; hoping s/he finds it in my LJ.
- Was really bummed to see a "Store Closing" banner on my favorite Marketbasket; but, Whole Foods is putting a store in, which will be really convenient (and it will be the most north-easterly WF, which will be a win for both the chain and the towns that-a-way). On the minus, ALL the Marketbaskets are closing, including the one on Alewife in Somerville - my friends who live/lived in that neighborhood don't necessarily have cars (or didn't when they lived there), losing that store is going to hurt a lot of people. (There's already a Whole Foods nearby; but we're not talking WF-level food budgets.)
