You could do a three part story, with each of them feeling one emotion about it and have a comparison and contrast. Maybe Ronon feels angry that his life was saved by the very thing he's trying to destroy, or apathetic, because that's just what happens in war -- sucks to be dead. Maybe Carson feels guilty because he's trying to stop Michael and Michael kept him alive (or maybe he feels guilty that he doesn't feel guilty.) Maybe John feels loyal to Todd and is disgusted at himself for feeling that way.

You could do in three clumps, or you could break it up into three different story lines and repeat the process a couple times and then at end, reveal that the angry person was actually Carson! Shock! And the guilty person was actually Ronon! Epic twist!

Or if you wanted to do something less introspective, you could have this be a discussion between Todd and John discussing how many people owe their lives to the Wraith and what this means. Arguably, all of them were saved for the betterment of each Wraith in particular, so it's not like the Wraith were doing this out of the kindness of their heart. On the other hand, if the road to hell is paved with good intentions, does that mean that the road to heaven is paved with bad ones?

Don't worry about the call for help. That's what a f-list is for. :)

When I was in grad school, I went to San Francisco every December for a large scientific conference, and so I know the city a little - or at least what it's like to run around San Francisco in uncomfortable shoes with a bunch of protogeophysicists.

I like your idea of interweaving contemplative stories; and I want to use something about San Francisco. And its role in science fiction, maybe, as in STIV and Sliders (a show that, if it were on now, I'd be fanning).

Ah, if only they'd landed in Boston Harbor!! But no. Nobody ever lands here.

Oh, you could do something with everyone exploring San Francisco and having flashbacks to whatever. I've never been, but if's like every other city, (traffic jams, funky smells, people yelling, people in weird outfits, etc) and it's gotta be kinda jarring to come back to, much less if you've never been exposed to it before. Maybe a car horn sounds sorta like an Athosian Elk or one of Michael's alarms.

You also throw in cameos from other Sci-Fi shows if you wanted, or have someone gripe, "Does everyone come here?" and then bump into Kirk or something.

Hee. No one lands in Texas either.
